The Month I disappeared: what really happened when i surrendered my path
How shutting everything down opened a clearer channel of divine guidance
I disappeared from Instagram for the last month.
Why? And what happened?
Four weeks ago, I made a decision I had never made before: to completely surrender my path and my plan to the Creator. Not in a casual, “Okay, I trust” kind of way—but in a full-bodied, soul-level surrender.
In deep prayer, I told the Universe:
“I let go of all my attachments. I only want to be where I belong in this Universe.”
And instantly, a message came through:
“Shut it all down.”
I knew exactly what “it” meant. It was my social media- my outlet for sharing spirituality, my platform, my little window into the world.
It surprised me, to be honest. But I decided to trust it. I’ve learned that the Creator sees what I can’t.
So I hit deactivate… and to my surprise, I felt immediate relief. Peace. Alignment.
It was the right decision.
I didn’t know if it would be forever or just for now, but the stillness that followed told me something sacred was unfolding.
When You Surrender, Guidance Has Room to Arrive
The very next day, another message came in—clear, loving, direct.
Then another.
And another.
Within a couple of weeks, the guidance was undeniable. The changes I needed to make, the steps I was meant to take, the direction I had been subtly resisting- it was all right there.
It’s funny because this concept isn’t new. It has existed since the beginning of creation.
We call it Sabbath.
Sabbath isn’t about restriction. It’s about release.
It’s the spiritual technology of letting go so you can receive more.
Letting go of our “knowledge,” our plans, our attachments, and our false sense of control opens a channel for divine Light to flow in. It’s counterintuitive, but surrender is often the most productive thing we can do.
And it worked.
It turns out that (for now) I am meant to share.
Just not from attachment. Not from fear. Not from pressure.
Surrendering the platform allowed a whole new wave of inspiration, clarity, and direction to come through.
Where Do You Need a Sabbath?
Maybe it’s not social media for you.
Maybe it’s a relationship, a business plan, a belief about who you “should” be, or a path you’ve been forcing even though it’s draining your soul.
Where in your life do you need a Sabbath- a full, intentional pause?
Where do you need to stop holding on so tightly… so the Divine can place something better in your hands?
Where are you being invited to surrender and trust that the Creator’s guidance is not only real, but always leading you exactly where you belong?
Let this be your reminder:
Surrender is not the end- it’s the opening.
